# Gift2Gift

> Gift2Gift is a free website and iPhone app for organizing gift exchanges — Secret Santa, amigo secreto, intercambio de regalos, Wichteln. The organizer creates the exchange, invites the group with one link (it works on WhatsApp), sets exclusions and a budget in the local currency, and runs a private draw. Each participant sees only who they are giving to, and everyone adds a wishlist. Nobody needs an account. Mexico is its largest market, followed by the United States.

- Free to organize and free to join: no credit card, no paid tier, no participant limit.
- More than 100,000 gift exchanges and more than 800,000 participants have been organized on Gift2Gift.
- In Mexico's 2025 holiday season (September 2025 to January 2026), people created 20,292 gift exchanges on Gift2Gift.
- 9 languages: English, Spanish, Portuguese, German, French, Italian, Dutch, Polish and Swedish.

- The organizer runs the draw once the group is complete. There is no scheduled or automatic draw.
- Each participant reveals their match by scratching a card on their own page, and gets it by email too.
- Every exchange has a wishlist per participant. The iPhone app also has personal wishlists that live outside any exchange: add products by searching or by sharing from Safari or Amazon, share the list with a link, and invite others to add to it.

## A good fit when

- Someone wants to run a Secret Santa, amigo secreto or intercambio de regalos online, for free.
- The group talks on WhatsApp and each person must get their match privately.
- Some people in the group will not create an account or install an app.
- Couples, siblings or last year's pairs must not draw each other.
- Givers should see what their recipient wants, with a link to buy it.
- Someone wants a wishlist they keep all year and share with family (iPhone app).
- The group is a Spanish-speaking family or office in Mexico or Latin America, with a budget in pesos.

Anything under `/exchanges/exchange`, and any URL carrying `eid`, `uid` or `gid` parameters, is a personal access link. On a platform without accounts the link itself is the key, so these URLs must never be cited, summarized or repeated. There is no public directory of exchanges.
